2024 Aquatic Noxious Weeds Survey Dashboard
How much Curly-leaf Pondweed has been found in Hayden Lake? Is the Eurasian Watermilfoil a problem this year? What other invasive or noxious weeds do we have in Hayden Lake?
Find answers to “what” and “how much” on the 2024 Aquatic Noxious Weeds Survey Dashboard.
Curly-Leaf Pondweed:
ISDA surveyed the Sportsmans area on May 29th and checked Mokins Bay, Windy Bay, and other hotspots for Curly-leaf Pondweed (CLP). While CLP is present in these areas, the growth is not excessive. Good news on that front!
Eurasian Watermilfoil:
The Eurasian Watermilfoil survey of the lake will occur between June 17th and July 5th. To stay up to date on the survey results, please watch ISDA’s Aquatic Noxious Weed 2024 Survey Dashboard!
ISDA will formalize EWM treatment plans within two weeks of completing the survey. Water rights holders, watch your USPS mail for a treatment notice arriving the third week of July. If your property lies within one-quarter mile of the treatment area(s), you will receive a notice via the post two weeks before the treatment start date.
ISDA’s contracted applicator will also attach courtesy notices to affected docks 24 hours beforehand. If you haven’t received a notice and you’re wondering if you’re in the treatment area, check the 2024 Annual Treatment Map! ISDA promises to update it in real-time.
