May 8 Water Testing Results – Irrigation Restrictions Cleared

Map showing locatoins of 5/8/19 water sampling to test for residual Fluridone.

From Jeremey Varley, ISDA, to Mary Ann Stoll, HLWID via email:

To all,

Yesterday, ISDA staff conducted post-treatment residue water sampling for the Fluridone treatment on the north arm of Hayden Lake. Attached is a map showing where these samples were taken. The water samples were processed at Anatek Labs in Moscow. The three samples collected in the treatment area show a presence of Fluridone, but it is well below the 5 ppb irrigation restriction for newly seeded vegetation level. We have reflected this result on our web map showing that irrigation restrictions are no longer in place until the onset of the second followup treatment scheduled for next week. Weather and other circumstances permitting, the applicator will perform the second of three applications on the 15th with notices being posted the day before.  The sample taken at the public water intake at Hayden Haven did not have any detectable levels of fluridone present. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards,
